Tower Slewing Crane Metal Construction Set.

Prototype: This is a Märklin "Tower Slewing Crane" metal construction set with approximately 1,050 parts. It is a one-time special edition of the "emblem" of the metal construction set series in the first half of the 20th century. This metal construction set is being produced in a one-time series as a special edition for the anniversary "100 Years of Märklin Metal Construction Sets". The color for the parts is mostly charcoal gray, similar to the start of the metal construction set series. All of the individual parts are packaged in a wooden case.

Swivel Plow Set

Prototype: Steam plow set with 2 locomobiles and 1 swivel plow with a chain for connecting a locomobile with the balance plow. Manufactured by the firm Heucke from Gatersleben in Saxony-Anhalt. Era I, beginning of the 20th century.

Model: Both locomobiles are constructed mostly of metal. They have finely detailed reproduction of the cylinder, drive gear, flywheel, steering, and the winch. The units have fine spoked wheels with metal treads. The set has 1 swivel plow made of a combination of metal and plastic as well as a chain for connecting a locomobile with the swivel plow.

Highlights:
  • New tooling for the finely detailed swivel plow.
  • Representation of farm tools at the beginning of the 20th century.
The steam plow set is being produced in 2014 in a one-time series only for Insider members.

Comment: The firm A. Heucke Steam Plow ? Locomotive Builders from Gatersleben in Saxony -Anhalt manufactured its own steam plow locomotives based on steam plows from the firm Fowler in England at the end of the 19th century into the 20th century. Complete steam plow sets were produced consisting of 2 steam locomobiles and a swivel plow with appropriate accessories. Two locomobiles pulled a swivel plow on a long steel cable for steam plowing across the field lying in front of them. Steam plowing on large areas of farmland was a rather special spectacle for that time as well as today.
